#13 Men’s Volleyball Rolls Past Dean
Dylan Johnson tallied 8 finishes on 10 swings as the Black & Gold win a sixth consecutive game
FRANKLIN, Mass. – The #13 Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team cruised to a sixth consecutive win with a sweep of the Dean Bulldogs on Tuesday night. Dylan Johnson led the team with eight kills on ten swings and added three blocks. Krister Leya and Gabe Tucker tallied six kills each and Luke McQuaid added five finishes and a team-high six digs. Temmy Argynbay dished out 11 assists to go with three digs and two aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The sides went back and forth for the first 10 points of the game with Krister Leya's kill tying the set at 5-5. Leya added another finish and Tucker and McQuaid combined to push the Leopards' lead to 11-5, forcing Dean into a timeout.
- A 7-2 run out of the break gave Wentworth a commanding 18-7 advantage. The sides exchanged points until Leya gave the Leopards set-point. An attack error gave the visitors a 25-17 win and a 1-0 lead in the match.
- The Leopards' offense was firing on all cylinders as Johnson, Tucker, and Popp got on the scoresheet early in set two to give Wentworth a 9-1 lead. Leya and Biggs combined to keep the Leopards in control, stretching the lead to 16-10. Johnson ended the second set with a strong finish to give Wentworth the 25-16 victory and 2-0 lead in the match.
- Dean took a 6-5 lead on an attack error before an immediate response from Kowalewski tied the game 6-6. Both sides had short runs to keep the game close at 14-12. A 5-0 spurt from the Leopards forced Dean into a timeout.
- Errors from the Bulldogs helped the Leopards build a 23-16 lead before Dean scored four points in a row to make it a three-point game. McQuaid and Biggs combined to finish the game off, 25-21, and give Wentworth the sweep.

- Tonight was the 9th all-time meeting between the teams.
