Women’s Track & Field Competes at CNE Championship
The Leopards took 9th at CNE Championship
WENHAM, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's track & field team competed at the Conference of New England Championship meet. Several Leopards placed in the top ten of the meet, and multiple new program records were set.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior Laci Santos placed eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.51, and Freshman Kirsten Alexson placed tenth in the event with a time of 17.22.

Laci Santos also had a top ten finish in the shot put with a fifth-place finish, with a throw of 10.90 meters. The throw sets a new program record in the shotput.

Kirsten Alexson had her second top ten finish of the meet in the 400m hurdles with an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:13.16

In the 400m dash, freshman Alexis Heretakis placed sixth finishing with a time of 1:01.39, a new program record in the 400m.

Sophomore Emma Schaumloffel placed ninth in the 5000m run, finishing with a time of 19:16.17, a new program record.

In the 4X100 Meter relay, the Leopards placed fifth with a time of 51.27. The relay was made up of Princess Nimely, Alexis Heretakis, Kirsten Alexson, and Olivia Holley.

In the 4X400 Meter Relay, the Leopards placed sixth with a time of 4:17.66, setting a new program record for this event. The relay was made up of Kirsten Alexson, Alexis Heretakis, Makayla Gasper, and Laci Santos

Senior Lily Carlson rounded out the top ten finishes in the high jump with a tenth-place finish, and a jump of 1.46 meters.
