PAXTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's soccer team closed out its non-conference slate with a 0-0 tie at Anna Maria on Wednesday night.
The Leopards, who posted their eighth shutout of the season and have not allowed a goal in the last 453:19, stand at 5-1-5, while the AmCats are 0-7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth came out of the gates firing as Lina Arlander put a shot on frame just 50 seconds into the contest. Five and a half minutes later, Arlander put another shot on target, which was followed by a Brianna Reid shot on net in the 10th minute.
- Anna Maria countered with two shots on net in a span of just under three minutes midway through the half. Shyla Kulesza saved them both to keep the game scoreless.
- The Leopards had four shot chances to close out the half, with two going on net.
- Arlander nearly put the Black & Gold on the board in the 61st minute when her shot hit the crossbar.
- Wentworth continued to apply pressure and Lily Carlson put a shot on net with 20 seconds left and, just before time expired, she had another shot on frame.
ALL-TIME SERIES:
- Tonight was the 14th all-time meeting between the two teams and the first since 2010. Wentworth leads, 10-3-1.
