BOSTON, Mass. – Allie Shamberger's nine points paced 12 fellow point-getters as the Roger Williams Hawks women's lacrosse team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology by a 24-2 score in Conference of New England play Wednesday afternoon.
The Hawks cap their regular season with a 10-6 overall mark and an 8-1 mark in CNE play. The Leopards close out the 2025 campaign with a 5-11 overall mark (1-8 CNE).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- An early goal by Ella Waryas put the Hawks ahead before Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie knotted the score at the 11:40 mark. From there, Roger Williams potted eight straight tallies, including three aside by Mia Pantano and Allie Shamberger, to hold a 9-1 lead.
- In the second, the Hawks extended their advantage to 16-1 with a string of seven goals spanning across 13:08. Roger Williams unloaded a 5-0 run in the third frame before cushioning their lead to 24-1 by the 5:06 mark of the fourth.
- Sydney Vega struck for the Leopards with 38 ticks left on the clock, marking a 24-2 final. Grace Del Pilar led the way with team-highs in draw controls (four) and ground balls (three).
