Women’s Basketball Falls to Elms College
Taylor Garabedian led the team with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists while Tita Rana scored eight and grabbed six boards.

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's basketball team fell in the final game of 2025 at Elms College, 50-36, on Tuesday night. Taylor Garabedian led the team with 14 points. Garabedian and Elise Ayer grabbed seven boards and tallied three assists each while Tita Rana scored eight and had six rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blazers opened the scoring behind Piper Graham's three pointer three minutes into the game. Graham hit another triple and Mary Turco knocked down two free throws to give Elms a 10-0 lead. Threes from Sam Gomes and Gabby Wasiewics stretched the Blazers' advantage to 18-0 after the opening 10 minutes.
- Garabedian's back-to-back scores got Wentworth on the board in the early stages of the second quarter. Free throws from Garabedian and Gianna Gioia and an Ayer jumper brought the Leopards within 14 points with just under three to play in the half. Tita Rana made a layup late in the quarter and Gioia's free throws as time expired made it 27-14 at the half. Wentworth outscored Elms 12-9 in the second frame after being held scoreless in the first.
- Two quick buckets from Tatiana Periera and Turco pushed the Blazers' lead to 17 before Ayer scored the Leopards' first bucket of the half 90 seconds into the frame. Gioia and Garabedian had two quick scores to cut the lead to 11 before Ayer grabbed a defensive board and hit a layup to bring the Leopards' back within single digits. The Blazers ended the 8-0 Wentworth run with five quick points at the midway mark of the third. Rana and Garabedian scored in the final minute to make it a 41-30 game heading into the fourth.
- Both sides struggled to score in the opening minutes of the final frame. Sophia Andrade made a layup four minutes in to push the Elms' lead to 13 points. Grace Moltenbrey knocked a three to make it a 10-point game with 4:30 remaining. Wentworth pushed late, but the Blazers held on to win 50-36.
THE SERIES:
- Tonight was the 5th all-time meeting between the two teams.
