Glavin Named CCC Rookie of the Week
Freshman catcher Liz Glavin hits .571 for the week, including recording a hit in six of eight games and having three multiple-hit games
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For the second time this season, Wentworth Institute of Technology freshman catcher Liz Glavin (Ipswich, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.
Glavin hit .571 (12-for-21) on the week, which included three multiple-hit games. Of her 12 hits, four were doubles and all came when she set a Wentworth single-game record with five hits in a 16-8 win over Wheelock. The four doubles in that game tied the program's single-game record. For the week she also scored seven runs and drove in six. She had a slugging percentage of .762 and an on-base percentage of .625.
Having started all 31 of the Leopards' games, Glavin leads the team with a .430 (37-for-86) average. Eighteen of her 37 hits have gone for extra bases as she has a program-record 13 doubles and five home runs and she has 27 runs scored and 27 RBI as well as an on-base percentage of .500 and a slugging percentage of .756.
