Men's Cross Country Takes Second at CNE Championships
Paced by three runners in the top 10, the Leopards earned their best finish since the 2019 season
WENHAM, Mass. – Paced by three runners finishing in the top 10, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team finished second at the 2025 Conference of New England Men's Cross Country Championship, held on the campus of Gordon College.
The Leopards scored 68 points, second to Roger Williams' 34 and two points ahead of Hartford's 70. The second-place finish is the best finish for the Black & Gold since their second-place finish in 2019.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ezra Blasko was Wentworth's top finisher as he finished third (three points) with a time of 25:56.63.
- Ryan Ballard had a season-best time of 26:03.40, posting a fifth-place finish (five points).
- Teddy Doyle recorded a personal best time of 26:16.38 to finish eighth (eight points).
- Joey Cotta ran a personal best time of 27:24.54 to finish 26th (25 points).
- Mark Murphy also had a personal best in the 8K, rounding out Wentworth's scorers with a 30th place finish (27 points) and a time of 27:30.46.
- Everett Miller (45th, 28:24.54 (personal best)), Evan McIntire (53rd; 28:36.42 (season best)), Hayden Pierce (54th; 28:41.13 (personal best)), Sean Giuliano (60th; 28:51.97 (personal best)), Nathan Berquist-Guimond (61st; 28:53.09), Alexandro Velasquez (68th; 29:16.33 (personal best)), Dylan Brilliant (70th; 29:17.26), Jacob Thomas (73rd; 29:27.57), Nate Lowe (81st; 29:51.31 (personal best)), and Jack Newton (92nd; 30:34.37) also ran for the Black & Gold.
- Blasko, Ballard, and Doyle each earned all-conference honors, which will be officially announced next week. For Ballard, it marks the fourth straight season he will be an all-conference honoree, while Blasko will earn his second straight All-CNE nod.
