Dubcak, Bell Earn AVCA All-America Honors
Alem Dubcak is an AVCA 2nd Team All-American and Nicolai Bell earns his second consecutive AVCA All-American Honorable mention nod
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The accolades continue to roll in for the #13 Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team as Alem Dubcak and Nicolai Bell have earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American honors. Dubcak was named an AVCA 2nd Team All-American and Bell was named an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. Dubcak is the 12th Leopard since 2020 to be named an AVCA All-American and Bell earns the honor for the second consecutive year.
Dubcak has been a standout outside hitter this season, hitting .268 with 242 kills and 3.18 kills per set in 76 total sets played. He finished fourth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with 3.18 kills per set. The junior tallied 107 digs and 29 total blocks this season. Dubcak earned GNAC First Team All-Conference and AVCA All-Region I honors last week.
Bell has been consistently one of the strongest middles in the GNAC and in the country. The senior has played in 71 sets this season, hitting .368 with 107 kills and averaging 1.51 kills per set. He has added 56 total blocks, averaging .79 blocks per set. Bell adds a second AVCA All-American nod to his impressive resume after earning GNAC Second Team All-Conference and AVCA All-Region I honors last week.
The Leopards won their fifth straight GNAC title with a thrilling five-set win over top-seed Lasell to head to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season.
