#11 Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Emmanuel
Connor Foxwell led the way with 12 kills on 16 swings, hitting .688, while Alem Dubcak added 11 finishes on 21 swings.

BOSTON, Mass. – The #11 Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team swept the Emmanuel Saints on Thursday night. Connor Foxwell led the team with 12 kills on 16 swings, hitting .688 on the evening. Benjamin Moughon led the team with 14.5 points and seven aces while adding six digs. Brayden Green dished out 35 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints went up 3-0 early before an ace from Moughon paired with killed from Foxwell and Dubcak tied the game. Emmanuel jumped back in front by three again before the Leopards answered to even the score again at 9-all. Moughon tallied a kill and Eli Turner provided an ace to put Wentworth in front 13-10. Cayson Branconier's kill put the Saints ahead 18-17 and the teams exchanged points as the set went beyond the 25-point mark. After going back and forth for the next 18 points, Wentworth pulled ahead with three straight kills from Nicolai Bell, Foxwell, and William Biggs, and won a lengthy first set 36-34.
- Kills from Trey Guest and three attack errors by the Leopards gave Emmanuel an early 7-2 lead in set two. A few errors by the Saints opened the door for Wentworth as they cut the lead down to 9-7. The hosts led 12-8 before a 6-0 run highlighted by kills from Moughon and Dubcak gave the Leopards the lead. Wentworth maintained the lead with Bell adding to his tally late in the set. Two errors and a kill from Foxwell put the Leopards in front 23-17, forcing Emmanuel to use a timeout. Moughon added a kill and an attack error gave Wentworth the 25-18 win and 2-0 lead in the match.
- Moughon's two aces and Dubcak's kill opened the set with points to give Wentworth a 4-0 lead. Dubcak rattled off three more kills and Bell added a finish as the Leopards opened a 9-3 lead, forcing Emmanuel into a timeout. Out of the break, a 6-2 run with three kills and an ace from Biggs propelled Wentworth into a 10-point lead as the set hit the midway point. Foxwell and Moughon combined for three points as the Leopards extended the lead to 20-7. Finishes from Biggs, Dubcak, and Foxwell paired with errors by the Saints gave Wentworth the 25-10 win in set three to secure the sweep.

- Tonight was the 44th all-time meeting between the teams. Wentworth has won the last 16 matchups.
