Conner Foxwell and Alem Dubcak, two of ten total Division III student-athletes, to represent the Leopards on the USA D-3 Volleyball Team in June
SANFORD, Fla. – Following the pair's successful second-year stints, Alem Dubcak and Conner Foxwell of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team were two of ten NCAA Division III student-athletes selected to participate on the USA D-3 Volleyball team's tour through Brazil in June.
Co-existing alongside a women's team, the men's team is comprised of players recognized nationally, regionally, and by their conference. The squad is made up of ten players representing six different institutions and coming from six different home states.
"This is an outstanding group of young women and men," said Ron Smith of USA Sports Tours & Events. "Many of the players on this year's USA D-3 Volleyball Team – Brazil Tour had great individual seasons and led their teams into postseason play. This tour is designed to expose players to a great international volleyball experience while providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for educational, cultural, and social growth."
The USA D-3 Volleyball Teams tour will run from June 9 through June 18. The teams will begin with orientation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 9 before departing for Sao Paulo, Brazil. The teams will play a doubleheader in the city of Jundiai on June 10. The teams travel and play in the city of Sao Paulo on June 11 before flying from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro a day later. In Rio, the teams will be part of an "International Challenge" on June 14. During the team's time in Rio, they will also be conducting a youth clinic at the Marina Barra Clube, hosted by Ripper Volei, as part of their "social outreach project". Both squads will play three matches each.
In a stellar sophomore season, Foxwell was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region and All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team honoree, leading the Leopards with a .425 hitting percentage among those who appeared in 20 or more matches and 66 total blocks. Dubcak was just as dominant for the Leopards, finishing 2025 second on the team in kills (144) and fourth in total blocks (33).
