GOING DANCING: Men's Volleyball Earns Fifth Straight NCAA Bid

BOSTON, Mass. – For the fifth consecutive year and seventh time in program history, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 19-team field was announced by the NCAA on Monday morning.
Fourteen conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2025 championship. The five remaining berths were reserved for five at-large candidates. At-large consists of institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining independent institutions.

Cal Lutheran (21-5), Juniata (29-4), Messiah (25-3), Springfield (22-4) and Vassar (22-6) were the five At-Large selections.
Winners of their fourth straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship, the Leopards will travel to Hoboken, New Jersey, to square off against Juniata in a second-round match on Friday, April 18, at a time to be announced. The winner will face either host Stevens or the winner of the Randolph-Macon/Nichols opening round match in the national quarterfinals on Saturday, April 19.
In their six previous NCAA appearances, the Black & Gold sports a 7-6 record and have reached the quarterfinals each time they have appeared in the tournament. In 2017 and 2022, the Black & Gold advanced to the national semifinals.
"We're excited to represent the GNAC for the fourth straight year and be in our fifth NCAA tournament in a row," said Head Coach Evin Giglio. "This group of seniors and fifth-year student-athletes have been a tremendous representation of Wentworth volleyball. I'm happy that their experience gets to culminate in another NCAA appearance. We look forward to our first round matchup with Juniata."
Wentworth and Juniata have met four previous times, with the most recent coming on January 21, 2023, at the SUNY Poly Invitational. The two teams have met one time in the NCAA Tournament with the Leopards defeating the Eagles, 3-0, in the 2017 quarterfinals, in Springfield, Mass.
