Pisker Named GNAC Rookie of the Week
Freshman opposite hitter Sam Pisker averaged 3.00 kills per set and hit .577 in a 2-0 week for the Leopards
BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman opposite hitter Sam Pisker (Mullica Hill, N.J.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for matches played from February 3-9.
Pisker helped the Leopards to a 2-0 week and extend their best start in program history (7-0) after he averaged 3.00 kills and 0.33 service aces per set while hitting .577. In a 3-0 win at Newbury he had seven kills on 10 swings for an attack percentage of .600 and he finished the week by recording 11 kills and six digs, while hitting .562, in a 3-0 win over Southern Vermont.
Having played in all seven matches and 20 of 22 sets to date, Pisker is averaging 2.45 kills, 0.40 service aces, and 0.65 blocks per set while hitting .330.
Wentworth is at third-ranked Rivier in GNAC play on Wednesday night.
