Strong Showing by Men's Indoor Track & Field to Conclude Regular Season
Leopards record 22 top 10 finishes as they wrap up the regular season at Wheaton; Julian Sacca wins the shot put

NORTON, Mass. – Paced by 22 top 10 finishes, including six in the top three, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team closed out the regular season at the Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Julian Sacca picked up Wentworth's lone first-place finish as he won the shot put with a top throw of 13.98M. Sacca was also 10th in the weight throw (12.55).
- Wentworth placed three in the top 10 in the 60M hurdles as Oliver Bishop was third (8.80), Owen Moriarty was fourth (8.81), and Anthony Medawar was ninth (9.51).
- The 200M Invite saw Gabriel Silva finish sixth (23.43), while in the 200M Open, Medawar was ninth (24.89).
- Three student-athletes finished among the top 10 in the 400M Open as Sean Reynolds was fifth (56.97), Amir Bahador was sixth (56.97), and Charles Cevasco was eighth (59.56). In the 400M Invite, Matt Murphy was eighth with a time of 53.21.
- Jack Newton placed third in the 800M with a time of 2:02.19.
- In the mile, Ryan Ballard placed second (4:13.88) while Ezra Blasko was fifth (4:24.55).
- Joseph Cotta (9:13.68) and Evan McIntire paced the Black & Gold in the 3000M, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Tyler Le (6.17M, third), Amir Bahador (5.86M, fifth), and Jackson Lanctot (4.50; seventh) were among the top 10 on the long jump.
- Moriarty placed second in the pole vault (4.30M) while Jace Matthew was fourth (4.00M).
- In addition to Sacca winning the shot put, Joe Packowski finished eighth (12.97M).
- Wentworth set one program record in the meet as the 4X200M relay squad ran a time of 1:35.87. Murphy, Silva, Kevin DeCollibus, and Sincere Duffaut placed third.
