BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's soccer fell to the Hartford Hawks 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at the new Sweeney Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- David Czubat's header from a corner by Austin Murawski in the 2nd minute gave the Hawks the early lead. Murawski doubled the visitors' lead in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball just outside the box.
- Charlie Gaynor got the Leopards on the board with a side volley from the top of the box drilled into the bottom corner. Wentworth gained momentum from the goal and registered two shots in five minutes but could not find the back of the net. Hartford went into the half with a 2-1 lead.
- The Leopards came out with good energy in the second half and had a good spell of possession, but a goal from Brayden Tahiliani restored Hartford's two-goal lead. Wentworth applied more pressure looking to get back into the game but could not crack the Hawks' back line.
- Austin Murawski's 83rd minute goal put the game out of reach as Hartford went on to win the game 4-1. Giovanni made five saves in the first half before being replaced by Mason Brooks.
