CANTON, Mass. – Six different student-athletes scored goals, including Gage Dill who also added a pair of assists as the Curry College ice hockey team defeated Wentworth, 6-1, in conference of New England play Saturday afternoon.
With the win the 11th-ranked Colonels improve to 15-5-0 overall and 12-3 in CNE play, while the Leopards fall to 4-14-1 (3-11).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first period was all Curry as the Colonels scored three times to take control of the game. Tyler Isherwood got the hosts on the board with a goal at 7:37, followed by a Killian Rowlee goal at 16:58. With 30 seconds left in the frame, Casper Soderling made it 3-0 with a power-play goal.
- Curry scored the lone goal of the second period when Victor Daigneault scored on the power play with 1:17 left in the period.
- After Nolan McDonough made it 5-0 at 6:17 of the third period, Wentworth got on the board as Mighton Johnson scored from Shea Thibeault and Dane Probe at 11:35. Dill rounded out the scoring when he tallied a goal at 15:41.
- George Kolovos led the leopards with six shots on goal while Ian Worthley won a team-high 10 faceoffs. Jack McGoverm made 33 saves.
ALL-TIME SERIES:
- Today was the 60th all-time meeting between the two teams.
