HOW IT HAPPENED
- Flaherty scored on Wentworth's first possession before five quick points put Gordon in front. The Leopards took the lead after Olson's three and Flaherty's layup, but an immediate answer tied the game again. The Fighting Scots went on a 9-2 run to take a seven-point lead with 12 minutes to play in the first half. Hunter Larson's bucket and Weeman's triple brought Wentworth within four at the midway mark of the half.
- The teams exchanged buckets with Gordon maintaining a six-point lead heading into the final six minutes of the frame. Trailing by six with 4:11 left, Olson drained a three to make it a three-point game before a second triple made it 29-27 with just over three minutes left. Hunter Larson's three-point play to close the half had the Leopards trailing 33-32 heading into the break.
- Gordon opened the second half with a 14-4 run to push their lead to 11 points five minutes into the frame, forcing Wentworth into a timeout. Williams found a rhythm in the second half and hit several big shots to keep the Leopards within 10 points. Williams and Larson knocked down shots to make it 56-50 with just over seven minutes to play. Flaherty's layup cut the lead to four as Gordon took a timeout.
- Free throws from Sean Racette and Williams cut the deficit down to two before a jumper from Williams brought the Leopards level. The Scots took the lead again, but Olson answered with a big three to tie things up once more. The teams traded buckets late and Weeman's jumper got Wentworth within four in the final 30 seconds.
