Men’s Basketball Falls to Babson
Colin Mannke scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed three rebounds. Jayden Williams scored 11 points to go with three rebounds and two assists.

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team fell to the Babson Beavers 98-54 on Tuesday night. The Leopards fall to 0-7 on the year while the Beavers improve to 5-1. Colin Mannke led the team with 12 points and added three boards. Jayden Williams added 11 points, fourrebounds, and two assists. Donovan Holway tallied six points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mannke got the Leopards on the board after hitting one of two free throws as Babson took an early lead. Mannke knocked down a three two minutes later to even the score at 4-4 before Babson went on a 13-0 run to take control of the game, forcing Wentworth into a timeout. Out of the break, Mike Yentin hit a jumper, but Jake Peterson's three halted any Wentworth momentum and pushed the lead to 14. The Leopards struggled to take care of the ball, with six turnovers in the opening 10 minutes, and the Beavers took advantage with eight points off turnovers.
- Jayden Williams' pair of free throws broke scoreless drought of over three minutes for the Leopards, as Babson stretched their lead to 30-8 with nine minutes to play in the first half. The Beavers stayed in control and took a 47-15 lead into the half. Wentworth shot 21% from the field and 16% from three while Babson shot 51% from the field and 44% from behind the arc. Babson took advantage of the Leopards' 10 turnovers in the first half, scoring 18 points off turnovers. Williams and Mannke led the Leopards with five points each through 20 minutes.
- Babson opened the second half with a 9-0 run before Dylan Olson's free throw stopped the run. Mannke and Dolabany hit shots in the opening five minutes, but the Beavers maintained a sizeable lead. Mannke scored seven of his 12 points in the second half and shot 4-11 from the field. The Leopards shot 32% from the field and 18% from three. Babson was hot from the start, shooting 55% from the field and 42% from behind the arc, knocking down 14 three-pointers. The Beavers had four players in double figures and outrebounded Wentworth 38-26.
