Mannke Records Double-Double in Men’s Basketball Loss at Bridgewater State
Colin Mannke dropped a career-high 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Andy Weeman added 13 points and five boards.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Colin Mannke's second double-double was not enough as the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's basketball team fell to Bridgewater State 93-75 on Saturday afternoon. Mannke scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Andy Weeman scored 13 and had five rebounds. Davis Lunn and Chase Mello combined for twelve assists, with seven and five, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mello scored on the Leopards' first possession, but the Bears came back with a 15-2 run to take a double digit lead in the opening five minutes of the game. Zach Taylor's caught fire at the midway mark of the first half with three straight layups to extend the host's lead to 31-16. The Bears fed the hot hand as Taylor hit 19 points with just under ten minutes to play in the first half. Russel Dolabany had back-to-back makes to bring the deficit down to 12 points, but Taylor answered once again with another finish at the rim to give him 21 points through 12 minutes of play.
- The Leopards struggled to make shots but cut the lead back down to 12 with Mannke's layup at the seven minute mark of the half. Bridgewater State held Wentworth scoreless for nearly three minutes as they built a 40-23 lead. Weeman's three-point play broke the drought for the Leopards. Donovan Holway came up with a steal on the next play and Weeman finished with another layup as the Bears called a timeout with the lead back down to 12 points. Mannke's free throws brought Wentworth within 11 in the final 90 seconds of the half, but the Bears took a 47-35 lead into the half.
- Wentworth came out firing in the second half with Mannke scoring on the first possession and Lunn knocking down a triple 30 seconds later. Mannke added three more points to make it a four-point game while the Leopards defense kept the Bears off the board. Sam Sweeney hit a much needed three for Bridgewater State and Louis Jennings followed with a layup to push the lead back to nine. After a BSU run, Mannke hit a pair of free throws and Weeman made another layup to keep the Leopards in the game, now trailing by seven.
- Mannke's layup cut the lead down to five, but the Bears defense quieted the Leopards run and regained their double digit lead at the midway point of the half. The Bears maintained their lead into the final minutes with Mello's layup making it a 15-point game with two and a half minutes to play. Bridgewater State went on the win by a final score of 93-75.
- Wentworth shot 40% from the field while Bridgewater State shot 45% from the field and 30% from three. The Leopards had 18 assists, four blocks and four assists as a unit. The Bears won the battle on the glass with a 54-44 edge.
