Three Student-Athletes Place on CSC Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team
Kyle Leger and Tyler Longo of men's lacrosse, Nikolas Sombrowski of men's ice hockey earn accolades from CSC
BOSTON, Mass. – Two student-athletes from the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team and one student-athlete from the men's ice hockey team have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as 2024 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team honorees.
The 2024 Academic All-District® teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
In order to be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, eligibility wise.
- Student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
- Student-athletes must have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or have started in at least 66 percent of their team's games.
- Student-athletes must have earned all-conference honors or received at least one vote in the all-conference nomination process
From men's lacrosse, sophomores Tyler Longo (Kingston, N.Y.) and Kyle Leger (Norwood, Mass.) earned honors. Longo was tabbed to the All-Conference Third Team and Leger started all 15 games he played in.
From men's ice hockey, sophomore Nikolas Sombrowski (Fernie, B.C.) represented the Black & Gold. The forward led Wentworth with 12 assists and 18 points this season.
