Fouron, Christopoulos Named Leopards of the Week
Track & field student-athletes Fabrice Fouron and Eleni Christopoulos earn this week's honors
BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Fabrice Fouron (North Easton, Mass.) and junior Eleni Christopoulos (Knoxville, Tenn.) of track and field have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of January 9-15.
In Fouron's first collegiate meet at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational on January 15, the rookie finished first in the long jump with a mark of 6.52M, good for a new program record. He also placed second in the triple jump, resulting in another program record set with his 13.20M spring. Fouron scored 18 of the Black & Gold's 52 points to help them finish in fifth place among nine teams.
Christopoulos' performance on the same day led the women's results. The junior placed fifth in the pole vault with a 2.60M read, a mark that broke her own previous program record. Christopoulos also competed in the 400M and finished 16th with a time of 1:15.52.
