Air Rifle Teams Shoot Against SUNY-Maritime
BOSTON, Mass. – Led by junior Angela Ngo's (Chelmsford, Mass.) 571, the Wentworth mixed air rifle team shot a 2188 and feated both SUNY-Maritime (2043) and the Leopard women's air rifle team (1959) in a match shot at the Nelson Recreation Center range.
The match, which consisted of air rifle only, saw all four of Wentworth's mixed team shooters fire 530 or higher. In addition to Ngo, junior Kirstin Torento (Higganum, Conn.) shot a 547, while freshman Mark Vollinger (Hatfield, Mass.) fired a 539, and junior Andy Puhlick (Willington, Conn.) posted a 531.
For the women's air rifle team, sophomore Shauna Murphy (Winthrop, Mass.) led the Leopards with a 524, with classmate Elizabeth Wu (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) shooting a 507. Sophomore Sarah Oakes (Caledonia, N.Y.) shot a 478, while classmate Jennalynn Plouffe (Hingham, Mass.) posted a 450.
