BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Matt Masciadrelli (Westfield, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. Masciadrelli earns the honors for games played from March 4-10.
Playing in seven of the Leopards' eight contests, Masciadrelli batted .421 (8-for-19) with one double, one stolen base, five runs scored, and a pair of runs batted in. Of the seven games in which he played, he had three multiple-hit contests, including going 3-for-4 in a 12-2 win over Penn State Fayette. He also had a pair of hits each in a 6-5 loss to WPI and in an 8-7 loss to King's (Pa.). He also had an on-base percentage of .455 while, defensively, he fielded all 25 chances without an error.
Masciadrelli has played in nine of Wentworth's 10 games this season and is batting .409 (9-for-22) with one double, one stolen base, seven runs scored, and two RBI. He also has an on-base percentage of .481 and a fielding percentage of 1.000 while helping to turn four double plays.
