BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Lowell Jesmer's (Rochester, N.Y.) 21 kills and six blocks helped pace the Wentworth men's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Daniel Webster in the Leopards' final home match of the 2010 season.
Wentworth took the first game in this hard-fought match by a 31-29 score as the two teams exchanged leads numerous times. The Visiting Eagles would tie the match at 1-all with a 30-27 win in the second game and hung close to the Leopards in the third game, before falling by a 30-28 score. With the Leopards holding a lead in the fourth game, Daniel Webster battled back to force a tie and hold a late lead before Wentworth won, 31-29.
In addition to Jesmer, junior Derek Portugal (Barrington, R.I.) had 17 kills and 19 digs, senior Tom Ceurvels (Weymouth, Mass.) had 15 kills and 12 digs, and freshman Tyler Moriarty (Wilbraham, Mass.) had 61 assists and four blocks.
