HAMPDEN, Mass. – Junior Eric Anderson (Abington, Mass.) shot a nine-over 81 to help lead the Wentworth golf team to a team score of 339 at the 2011 ECAC Division III New England Men's Golf Championship, played at the Hampden Country Club. The 16-team event was scheduled to be a two-day event, however Saturday's inclement weather shortened the championship to a one day, 18-hole tournament.
Junior Bryan Cohen (Caracas, Venezuela) shot an 84 with freshman Dante Christofori (Springfield, Mass.) carding an 86. Junior Jose Armenteros (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) completed the Leopards' scoring with an 88, while junior John Romanelli (Acushnet, Mass.) also competed for the Black & Gold, shooting an 89.
Salem State took home the team title with a 297, followed by Husson (298) and Western New England (304). Salem State's Nick Zolotas claimed the individual title as he shot a two-under 70 on the day.
